Winter’s here! Bundle up and get outside as a family to experience the winter activities your city has to offer. Grab the sleds and helmets and take a few runs down your local toboggan hill, snowshoe through the ravine, skate at one of the many indoor or outdoor rinks, ski within an hour of your home, or just enjoy a friendly snow ball fight in the backyard. Whatever activity you choose, your mind, your body, and your children will thank you. Here are a couple of great reviews from one of our Share Savvy members (and mom) for her favourite winter activities in and around the city.
• If your family is passionate about the outdoors, the Calgary Ski Club is a great option for local families. SavvyCal recommends signing up for one of the fabulous day trips. And, if you are close to Kananaskis, she loves Peter Lougheed Park for cross-country skiing or hiking. Washroom facilities and warm up hut too.
