Enjoy local this month by visiting one of the numerous farmer’s markets now open in your city. Choose from fresh, locally produced and, often organic, raised meat and cheese products, seasonal fruits and vegetables, fresh baked goods, wild flowers, herbs, and preserves – just to name a few. Farmer’s markets often provide kid-friendly activities, entertainment, and healthy snack or meal options, so visiting one makes for a great family outing. Get to know more about the food you’re buying by talking to the farmers and vendors about their products. Farmers are early risers and the good stuff often goes first, so get there early. BYOB (bring your own bags) and although some accept credit, cash is the preferred method of payment. There are currently no reviews for Farmer’s Markets in and around your city, but we know they’re out there.
Find a market near you here at Travel to Wellness Canada and if you get a chance to visit it, make sure you come back and share.
