I found this little shop around the corner about 6 months ago called Pantry, and at first I just met my friends with babies there (yes, they have stroller parking AND plenty of childless customers, all living in harmony). They make ready to eat meals from local, seasonal, naturally-raised farm food. They're open everyday. There's a
huge red couch perfect for lounging (and they're totally breast feeding friendly) in a warm, old fashioned grocery-style store so you can shop and chat and your kids can play with a collection of vintage kitchen toys, rocking horse (though I wouldn't suggest putting your 9 month old on the rocking horse...don't judge, I needed to free up my hands to pay for my coffee - unbelievable coffee) and little pots and pans. My girlfriend recently had a baby, and instead of the usual sleepers and stuffed bear, the owner
suggested I send a lunchbox under their 'Say it With Food' collection, filled with meals for the next few days that even hubby can't mess up just heat and serve and a bunch of snacks to keep her going through 3 am feedings. I wish someone had done this for me, we lived on Mr. Noodle and bananas for the first 3 months, my mother-in-law did send casseroles but I wouldn't actually call them food (I hope she doesn't read this)!!! They even thought to ask about any other kids in the house and included a small gift for their toddler. I love shopping for baby stuff, but how many onesies does one baby really need? As I will soon be heading back to work I won't be able to spend as much time, or money, at Pantry...almost makes me want another baby...almost!?!?!
