Lakeside Park

Front St. & Navy St, Oakville, ON

Category: Parks & Playgrounds

At the end of Navy St, in Oakville, is our favourite park, where we take the kids to rid themselves of those endless wiggles and get some fresh air! The play-structure is the perfect size, not too big (you can always see where the little monkeys are) and not too small (room for many kids to play!). With slides, swings, wooden bridges, fireman's pole and rope ladder, the kids have many things to keep them busy. While they are expelling their energy, I often enjoy a good neighbourly chat with other moms on the CLEAN picnic tables and benches. The view is spectacular, with the Oakville Marnia and lighthouse just below the hill.

During the hot, dog days of summer, this park is a perfect refuge as the big oak trees keep it well shaded, and the breeze off the lake provides relief from the heat. Sometimes, we sneak down to the water to skip rocks. On a clear, smog free day, you can see Toronto's waterfront skyline.

It's our favourite park...maybe now it can be yours too.
