The Best Farmer's Markets

from the team at SavvyMom.ca

Market_strawberries

Enjoy local this month by visiting one of the numerous farmer's markets now open in your city. Choose from fresh, locally produced and, often organic, raised meat and cheese products, seasonal fruits and vegetables, fresh baked goods, wild flowers, herbs, and preserves – just to name a few. Farmer's markets often provide kid-friendly activities, entertainment, and healthy snack or meal options, so it makes for a great family outing. Get to know more about the food you’re buying by talking to the farmers and vendors about their products. Farmers are early risers and the good stuff often goes first, so get their early. BYOB (bring your own bags) and although some accept credit, cash is the preferred method of payment. There are a number of great farmer's markets in and around Winnipeg, but at this time there is only one review from the ShareSavvy community.

GillianDC prefers to do her shopping at St. Norbert Farmer’s Market, where there is lots to see and eat.

Find a market near you here at Canada: Farmer's Markets and if you get a chance to visit it, make sure you come back and share. We know there are other farmer's markets out there, so support your local farmers and share them now!
